"The Holy Spirit speaks many languages; among them the languages of art in all its forms." - Frank Tracy Griswold, 25th Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church.
Art is a powerful gift that can touch our lives and help us grow both as artists and viewers. It speaks to our spirits and can be a path for discovery, growth and inspiration. Art can entertain us, it can help us express joy and exhilaration or darkness and pain and can be a window into truth and spirituality.
Our art gallery is located in the hallway upstairs.
The mission of the art committee is to support and promote art and artists within the church and in the community. The Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross and the Tryon area are intertwined in its rich history of valuing and promoting art and making art in many forms and we want to celebrate that!
The art committee plans and presents a variety of art exhibits in the gallery throughout the year with the hope of honoring and sharing the talents of parishioners and other artists. The committee also maintains the inventory of art pieces owned by the church and serves as a consultant for church beautification projects.
