Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.
The Order of the DOK is organized as a religious order, although we do not live in an enclosed community. Each daughter takes a lifetime vow to live by the Rule of the Order. Our rule of life requires a spiritual discipline of daily prayer, service and evangelism. Because of our vow, we refer to ourselves as an order, not an organization or committee. Our bylaws prohibit us from raising funds.
We pray daily for our priest, church community as well as specific individuals who are sick or in any kind of trouble. We maintain a prayer list which is confidential and not discussed outside the order. We take on studies of the Bible or spiritual writings. We support local groups with time and donations, such as Church of the Advocate, Steps to Hope, and Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry. We meet with other DOK groups in the diocese and occasionally with regional or national groups. We have adopted a child in Durgapur, India and support her annually.
